Bug Description

[IMPACT]
This is just a translations update, planned to be the last before Ubuntu 12.04.1.

[TESTCASE]
sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends language-pack-gnome-fr
LANGUAGE=fr yelp

Substitute other language codes. Many languages aren't fully translated though.

[Regression Potential]
Due to the large number of changes and different languages involved, it's important that the different language teams verify that the translations are as good or better than the last release.

Could you give us an exact date when this should be done so that we get the most updated translations possible?

Hi Jeremy

Good point. Fortunately, there is no need to hurry, we have some time to think.

Looking at schedules, there is a LanguageTranslationDeadline on 9th August, which means we should aim test language packages to be uploaded a week before. Precise language packs are scheduled for export on Tuesdays, that puts the deadline to the 30th. July, if the goal is to have the latest translations.

On the other hand, the language pack update schedule is the one invented for normal releases, and does not take into account point releases. I think we can and should change that :).

I'll ask dpm about this as soon as he is back from his holidays, early next week. Stay tuned!

Hi Jeremy

I could not make dpm take a look at this, but it should work out. Could you please upload a new ubuntu-docs package to precise-proposed on Sunday or Monday?

Ok, I've prepared the upload, but I need a sponsor as I don't have upload rights for ubuntu-docs. The precise & quantal branches are attached to this bug.

Hello Gabor, or anyone else affected,

Accepted into precise-proposed. The package will build now and be available in a few hours in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please change the bug tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not, change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance!

ubuntu-docs install fine and content seems to be there. Considering that it's just a translation update, I think that's as much as we need to test.
