Bug Description

After installing this image: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20120903.4/quantal-desktop-armhf+omap4.img on a Panda board, after having logged on to my account, moving the mouse around creates lines on the desktop as you can see in the attached image.
I'ts very disturbing because as you move the mouse the desktop gets messed up.

this is an issue with the kernel side of the 3D driver, i know that ricardo has a fix for this pending already.

yes, the fix for this bug, while already tested, was still not uploaded...

http://people.canonical.com/~rsalveti/quantal/kernel/ has the test packages. in case you want to try them you can just wget all of them and run:

sudo dpkg -i *.deb; sudo dpkg-reconfigure pvr-omap4; sudo reboot

Patches are available http://kernel.ubuntu.com/git?p=rsalveti/ubuntu-quantal.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/omapdss-low-level-support, sent a pull-request to ppisati.

There's still an issue with DPMS, which can show a random color pattern instead of going black, but that doesn't happen all the time. As the flickering is gone with that kernel, it'd help if we could at least land these changes now.

Marking it as Invalid at the pvr-omap4 side, as it's actually related with the kernel.

@ Oliver: I installed the test packages you suggested in comment #9 and everything after reboot works fine.
I can move windows and mouse around without any problem.
