Bug Description

Using the current Quantal RC image for i386, I was unable to connect to wifi using a secure connection. The attempt to connect hung at "waiting for authorization". The correct passphrase had been entered. This works fine in plasma-desktop. In the same live session, I switched to desktop and was able to connect with no problem.

This issue is specific to the live session as once the system is installed, kdewallet appears as normal and I can connect. I suspect there was some magic done to the plasma-desktop for the live session that needs to be done for netbook as well.

If failed for me on two different access points (this system needs bcmwl,
FWIW), but I did it in German and it worked. No idea what's up.

It looks like this is more likely tied th the NM applet.

Proposed release note:

Secure wireless connections fail due to authorization errors in a live Kubuntu session with some netbooks. It the network managemen widget shows "waiting for authorization" for an extended period and then times out, go into the Network Management settings, delete the pass phrase, hit OK, and then re-enter the pass phrase in the pop-up dialog. This connection attempt should succeed.

Better release note:

Secure wireless connections fail due to authorization errors in a live Kubuntu session with some netbooks. It the network managemen widget shows "waiting for authorization" for an extended period and then times out, just retry the connection. This connection attempt should succeed.
