Bug Description

If my wlan usb-adapter (atmel chip: at76c503) is plugged in while ubuntu 7.04 is booting, there comes a message:

ubuntu/wireless/at76/at76c503.c: 2522: /dev->istate == init failed
ubuntu/wireless/at76/at76c503.c: 2492: /dev->istate == scanning failed

then it wait for about a minute and after that the system go on booting.
If I unplug it, gnome starts without any problem. If I don't do that, my gnome won't start, he just show me an orange screen.
And if I plug it in after booting, gnome crashes just a minute later and I only can use the console.
I've had a similar problem with a SuSE Linux 9.2. But there was no problem in edgy...
I've tried to resolve this problem, so I remove the network-manager, the avahi-daemon and the atmel firmware, but that changed nothing.
