Binary package hint: update-manager

The system has a little over 6GB of free space.
The directory flashplugin-nonfree did not exist in /var/cache but was expected by the installer causing the error.

What info is needed exactly?
By the way the upgrade is successfully completed now, but i think it's a simple fix to check for the directory and create it if it doesn't exist.

This has nothing to do with flashplugin-nonfree setting package to update-manager and moving back to incomplete until someone on update-manager decides to confirm it.

The problem does not appear to depends on the updater, but in the fact that the data in the plugin released by adobe has changed.
Remember that the ubuntu package is just an installer. When you install the ubuntu package, it downloads the plugin from adobe and installs it for you. Before installing, it verify the downloaded file using a md5 checksum. The checksum of the plugin appears to have changed thus resulting in the ubuntu package NOT installing the plugin.
This is shown by the following..

hobbit@legolas:$ sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
Download done.
md5sum mismatch install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz
The Flash plugin is NOT installed.

Attached is a debdiff of the patch solving this problem

Thanks for this bugreport.

This is not a problem with update-manager, but with the flashplugin-nonfree package, I close this task now.
