Bug Description

Mir's hardware cursor (arrow) is drawn on top, even though we're not using it in unity-system-compositor/XMir.

Instead we're using the X software cursor. So Mir needs an API function to be told to hide the cursor. Or the smarts to do it automatically if it doesn't have ownership of the pointing device.

Confirmed the TrackPoint (nipple) behaviour.

The Mir hardware cursor isn't meant to respond to anything when in XMir really. And even if it does, that will be solved with this bug.

Can also confirm the "nipple" behaviour on my Thinkpad Edge

Ohhh, cursor! I tried to look for the bug to avoid making a duplicate, but only "mouse pointer" came to mind, and none of the results for that search were at all related to the bug.

i know alot of folks like this as a "watermark" to know they are running xmir - but it is annoying.
possibly add a little timer to disable it (best of both worlds)
we do need to turn this off for 13.10
