Bug Description

I am running Ubuntu 13.04 and Prey 0.5.3-7.1.

When configuring Prey to report by e-mail instead of using Prey's website, it is not able to send e-mails using GMail's SMTP server. The error provided by pray.sh is:

 -- Posting data via email...
invalid SSL_version specified at /usr/share/perl5/IO/Socket/SSL.pm line 332

Apparently this is related to this bug I found on the sendemail Debian package (which uses the same Perl dependency): http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=679911

Also, it seems this problem was not fixed upstream, as a similar bug report for a newer Prey version (0.5.9) is unanswered on the developer's website: http://answers.preyproject.com/topics/standalone-mode-not-receiving-emails. I believe this could be either a problem with libio-socket-ssl-perl or Prey, but I am not good enough in Perl to be able to help further in debugging this.

Confirming, needs the same fix as sendemail - because prey includes a convenience copy of the sendemail script.

prey (0.5.3-7.1ubuntu1) saucy; urgency=low

  * Fix sending emails via SSL, libio-socket-ssl-perl changed it's interface
