Bug Description

dovecot's full text search modules currently offer three options [1], where one is deprecated.

Ubuntu packages fts_squat (the deprecated module) in dovecot-core, offers fts_solr in dovecot-solr.
fts_lucene is missing and no package for that module exists. It _is_ still available upstream as far as I can tell and is not deprecated according to [1].
Probably it wasn't built for a while because it relied on a non-released version of clucene, but that is fixed for Debian Jessie/Ubuntu Quantal.

Please provide a way to access fts_lucene without building from source.

This is available upstream in Dovecot, so not a bug there.

Hi, it was actually enabled for a few releases - nobody notified the bug here :-/

But it is in the meantime deprecated and failed for several reasons, so as of today it is again not available (intentionally) - see bug 1524526 for more.
