Bug Description

It was suggested on ubuntu-devel that it would be nice to have qtwebsockets module in Utopic:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-devel/2014-September/038480.html

The packaging is here: http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-kde/qt/qtwebsockets.git — acceptable for Ubuntu with minor changes (like building against qtbase 5.3.0, not 5.3.1)

It was part of Qt 5.3 upstream release, but it was just recently accepted to Debian.

Sounds like the BD version could be relaxed?

I think this is a good idea, go ahead. If this isn't a sync, please find
an AA who will review before you upload (Scott K?).

I can review it on Saturday if it's uploaded before then.

Scott: What I want to upload is 5.3.1 package from Debian with version downgraded to 5.3.0 (like done in qtxmlpatterns and qtscript). Can I go ahead and put it to NEW?

As long as you've tested it and it works.

The BD:s need to be always bumped, or in this case lowered, to match the current qtbase/qtdeclarative abi version. Additionally what Dmitry explained about downgrading the (reported) version to match the qtbase version is what's needed since Qt makes certain version number checks.

Tested (as in: builds on i386 and amd64, installs, needed files are present, the testsuite passes), and uploaded.

Also included Timo's change to build qml bindings.

affects: ubuntu → qtwebsockets-opensource-src (Ubuntu)

This bug was fixed in the package qtwebsockets-opensource-src - 5.3.1-1ubuntu1

---------------
qtwebsockets-opensource-src (5.3.1-1ubuntu1) utopic; urgency=medium

  [ Dmitry Shachnev ]
  * Initial upload to Ubuntu, based on Debian packaging git
    (LP: #1370927).
  * Build against Qt 5.3.0.
  * Set the version to 3.5.0 to prevent other packages from
failing to build (because of a version mix).
  * Use correct exception syntax in debian/copyright.

  [ Timo Jyrinki ]
  * Add Qt Declarative build dependency and build the QML module
