default irc window is too small

Bug Description
Binary package hint: pidgin
I ran pidgin from the menus as recommended by Testing/Cases. When I connected to irc.ubuntu.com, I found that the IRC window was rather small.
Most IRC users will want a broader display with room for a bit more scrollback. Also, the list of people in the channel shows only the first part of the nick for all but the shortest nicks.

I can confirm this problem, but you can resize this window, so it's not a huge bug.
