Binary package hint: update-manager

ubuntu 7.10-beta amd64

The following error message appears while starting update manager

Could not calculate the upgrade

A unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.

Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the following error message:
'E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.'

Could you please try the upgrade again? This sounds like a transient issue with the archive being inconsistent.

Well, since you re-installed from scratch now, I am closing this bug.
Anyway, bug #146536 (Confirmed) will keep the spirit of this one.
