Bug Description

While upgrading from 14.04 to 16.04 I got the following:
---------------------------------------------------------
Could not install '/var/cache/apt/archives/gcc-doc_4%3a5.3.1-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb'

The upgrade will continue but the '/var/cache/apt/archives/gcc-doc_4%3a5.3.1-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb' package may not be in a working state. Please consider submitting a bug report about it.

there is no script in the new version of the package - giving up
---------------------------------------------------------------
Now gcc-doc will neither install, reinstall, nor purge.
