Bug Description

Vc has migrated to GitHub and released new versions up to 1.2.0. New software requires new version. E.g., krita 3.0+ needs Vc >= 1.1.0.

Please consider updating the homepage and the software. Thanks.

Ah, so there's a bug report concerning this already here. I just wanted to create it as proposed by the answers to

https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vc/+question/404456

Meanwhile Vc is at 1.30. Seeing it updated in 17.04 would be nice.

Looking at

http://packages.ubuntu.com/zesty/vc-dev

I assume that even 17.04 seems to be set to use the old version.

Attached is my patch.

Sponsors, please take a look at the debian/changelog file specifically, I want to make sure I did that right. Also, please look and make sure it's compatible with Debian Policy revision 3.9.8 and Debhelper 10, I want to make sure I got that right too.

It builds fine locally for me.

The attachment "firstpatch.diff" seems to be a debdiff. The ubuntu-sponsors team has been subscribed to the bug report so that they can review and hopefully sponsor the debdiff. If the attachment isn't a patch, please remove the "patch" flag from the attachment, remove the "patch" tag, and if you are member of the ~ubuntu-sponsors, unsubscribe the team.

Hi Simon,

apparenly the couple of patches you attached contain no just the changes in the packaging but also the changes in the upstream code, could you narrow it down to the files in debian/* please?
