You'll need to follow the procedure listed at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FreezeExceptionProcess for inclusion in Hardy, since we're past feature freeze.

Marking as invalid as Hardy is released.

Reopening, and marking it as needs packaging.

Please, please package v2.4.0. It fixes tons of bugs and contains just as many new features. I often get private mails from Ubuntu users reporting bugs that have been fixed months ago, and packaging the new mkvtoolnix versions is easy enough.

A patch against the upstream tarball for packaging in Debian has already been posted at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=503261
