Bug Description

I encountered this crash during a dist-upgrade from impish to jammy, i.e. running `do-release-upgrade --devel-release`. My desktop session crashed, and my VM can no longer boot the desktop (but I can ssh still).

I believe this failed to retrace because the packages installed are likely a mix of ones from impish and jammy.

it's probably a consequence of bug #1962036, seems dbus is going down on update taking the graphical session with it
