I get a lot of errors when I activate wins in nsswitch.conf:

- aMSN as above
- Nautilus can't open shares mounted from Network (but if i mount with ip-numbers it works)
- Samba configuration gui does not work

I think these are related, and it is not an aMSN-problem, but a problem in tk8.5 when using wins name lookups.

I have the same problems.

Removing wins from nsswitch.conf removes the problem.

Yes I can confirm that removing wins from the nsswitch.conf corrected the problem.

The problem is not corrected! Some of us need wins enabled in nsswitch.conf for hostname resolution. Removing wins is an incompetent workaround!

I'm getting this error also, I'm unable to configure my home network without having aMSN segfaulting.

That version has died long ago; no more supported
