broadcom-sta-dkms can be found on the ISO pool on both lunar-desktop and lunar-desktop-legacy. In the live session, "ubuntu-drivers install" reports that "All the available drivers are already installed", but broadcom-sta-dkms isn't installed. "ubuntu-drivers debug" reports broadcom-sta-dkms as needed.

manual installation of broadcom-sta-dkms does complete but the system still has no wireless interface and dmesg reports that 'wl: module verification failed: signature and/or required key missing - tainting kernel'. The reconfigure/kmodsign/modprobe workaround in https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/dkms-package-support-extra-drivers-does-not-work-in-ubuntu-22-10-install-media/31655 does result in a loadable driver but not a wireless interface.

Am I missing something?

With secureboot, the live session install of that module should trigger installer questions w.r.t. MOK key enrollment.

Post installer reboot, should trigger MOK interface to complete the mok key enrollment prior to OS loading.

Once OS is loaded, the driver should work.

Sure, this is the scenario that we were considering for handling of MOK key enrollment, which isn't implemented yet.

I think something else may be going on though. With the 22.04.2 desktop ISO, I can go to a command line and "sudo ubuntu-drivers install", and when it's done I have a wireless interface. I cannot do the same with lunar desktop dailies, instead I get the "All the available drivers are already installed" comment. "mokutil --sb-state" reports "This system doesn't support Secure Boot".

Marking wontfix for Lunar, as I don't believe there is action Subiquity can take yet. With future MOK key enrollment we can tacke this, but the above "ubuntu-drivers install" item needs to be resolved first.

If that (not being able to use the new desktop installer with bcmwl) is the case then we should document this in the release notes for Lunar Lobster.
