Bug Description

Please look at this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=587870

Personally I lost compose key after one of the Hardy alpha's update. Everything worked fine on early alphas. Does not now.

Hot keys and layout changing works fine. For me compose key is affected only.
People say they got this on stable 7.10 after update as well (not upgrade).

My configuration:
$ cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.6.24-12-generic (buildd@palmer) (gcc version 4.2.3 (Ubuntu 4.2.3-2ubuntu4)) #1 SMP Wed Mar 12 23:01:54 UTC 2008

$ cat /etc/lsb-release
DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu hardy (development branch)"

GNOME

I´ve got two keyboard layouts: USA (alternative) and Russian Winkeys.

Cedilla method works, but i would like to customize combinations via ~/.XCompose.
