Bug Description

Binary package hint: python2.5

I've been using Hardy Heron since its beta and Ubuntu since Feisty. The 2.6.24-15 kernel does not recognize my NVidia card, does not connect to internet, etc. Max resolution there is 800x600. When I use 2.6.24-12 kernel, system boots up normally, Compiz works and so on. When everything is loaded, python2.5 will crash. Python2.5 version is 2.5.2-2ubuntu3. I don't know much about Ubuntu (yet), and Hardy Beta is the first Ubuntu version where I have had these crashes.

This bug was fixed in the package guidance-power-manager - 4:4.1.2-0ubuntu2

---------------
guidance-power-manager (4:4.1.2-0ubuntu2) intrepid; urgency=low

  * Fixes crashes due to lack of HAL (LP: #214678)
    - Readd debian/patches/series
    - Add debian/patches/01-we-dont-need-no-hal.diff
    - Catch crashes due to lack of communication with HAL
      - On startup try every 30 seconds to establish connection
      - After start do something useful in the meantime and connection will
        return automatically when HAL does
