Bug Description

Hey guys,
I had read a few bug reports on on language translators not working on hardy so I installed three different ones to test gnom-translate, youtranslate, and another one.
None of them work.
I dont often use a translator but I know that they are not working on ubuntu hardy.
If I put in the word "go" it spits out "go" again.
If I put in "bonjout" in french to english it spits out "bonjour" again.
Not sure of the issue just wanted to let you know.

I can confirm that youtranslation (1.1.9-0ubuntu1) doesn't work on hardy 8.04 (2.6.24-18-generic) after launching. The same after installing youTranslate-1.10_all.deb. After entering the word to translate and clicking on the arrow-icon nothing happens on the translation field.

It looks like debian/patches/update-service-providers.patch needs to be backported to Hardy.

The reason gnome-translate is broken is actually because of libtranslate0 and changes to the web services it uses. The following patch might be helpful in updating the services file.

Because it was fixed for Intrepid, not Hardy.

I'm confused. Is this actually a duplicate of bug 239719? If so, it should be marked so, and the uploaded changelog should not refer to this bug. If not, this needs MOTU-SRU ack (just subscribed).

Sorry, there's no libtranslate waiting in the hardy-proposed queue. Does it need a fix as well? If so, please upload and set to "in progress", otherwise please set this task to "invalid".
