Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

In a clean Intrepid Ibex Alpha 2 installation, I selected pt_BR (Brazilian Portuguese) as the default language. When the keyboard selection screen arrived, the USA (normal US version, not the international variation) was selected instead of the "Brazil" version (which, BTW, is known as ABNT-2).
Unfortunately I can't provide any debug information right now but feel free to ask any complementary information and I'll be glad to provide.

Adilson,
Is this bug present on the latest daily live CDs (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/)? There have been major changes to that portion of code since Alpha 2.

If the bug is still present, please run the installer in debug mode (`ubiquity -d` from a console) and attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/installer/debug to this bug report.

Thanks!

There are actually two bugs here: one (in casper) if you select the language on the CD boot menu, and a different one (in ubiquity) if you select it at the first screen in the installer. Sigh. I'm fixing them both now.

casper (1.141) intrepid; urgency=low

  [ Johannes Ballé ]
  * Handle spaces in file names in md5sum.txt (LP: #251112).

  [ Colin Watson ]
  * Support ?= (set value but don't mark as seen) preseeding syntax in
preseed script; previously we only supported it in the keyboard script,
which confusingly doesn't deal with propagating console-setup/* preseeds
to the target filesystem (LP: #253749).
  * Update to localechooser's new languagelist format.

  * scripts/casper: properly use argument $1 in matches_uuid()

ubiquity (1.9.18) intrepid; urgency=low

  * Start dbus and (in the case of the GTK frontend) gconfd in only-ubiquity
mode (LP: #261073). I'm not entirely certain that accessibility will
    keep working with this ...
  * Set OVERRIDE_SHOW_ALL_LANGUAGES while calling localechooser on the
timezone page as well as on the language page itself (LP: #253749).
