Bug Description

Binary package hint: libxml-simple-ruby

The libxml-simple-ruby package installs the library in /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/lib, where ruby can't find it. It should install to /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/, where most ruby libraries go. I will use my novice skills to fix.

Also, a temporary workaround:
$ sudo ln -s /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/lib/xmlsimple.rb /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/xmlsimple.rb

  * Fixed debian/rules file to install library in correct directory.
    (LP: #256300)

  [ James Westby ]
  * Add a lib/xmlsimple.rb symlink to the new location to preserve
    compatibility with the old package and Debian's. Presumably this can
    be dropped when Debian fixes the bug.
