Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

This bug actually belongs either under libasound I think now. I cannot play any event sounds with kde4 NOR can I play anything with xine at all via alsa plugins.

I can't get anything to play using alsa since libasound update.

This causes pretty much everything in kde that uses sound to cause 100% cpu use, kopete, knotify, etc...

Please try the latest libasound2 package in my PPA, http://launchpad.net/~themuso/+archive and tell me if that resolves the issue. SOunds like this is caused by some patches I pulled from upstream alsa, but I'll revert them if they cause problems.

Thanks.
