Bug Description

Binary package hint: supertuxkart

I use lxpanel. Menu supertuxkart is in the category "graphics". together with the GIMP, Inkscape ... But the rest of the game in my category of "Game".

to correct this, you must change the file /usr/share/applications/supertuxkart.desktop

before
Categories=3DGraphics;Game;ActionGame;Simulation;SportsGame;

after
Categories=Game;ActionGame;Simulation;SportsGame;3DGraphics;

Thank you for your attention!
Sorry for bad English

After installing lxpanel on top of an intrepid gnome desktop, I can confirm that supertuxkart is placed in the Graphics category and not the Game category. I agree that the order of the categories should be changed to

Categories=Game;ActionGame;Simulation;SportsGame;3DGraphics;

as suggested by Andrew Gurtowoy. This would also bring the Categories list into line with Freedesktop.org standards, in which Game is a main category and all the others are additional categories.

I also tested the modified order with the Gnome panel and it worked fine.

Hm I may even possibly drop 3DGraphics alltogether for the next upload to Debian as http://bugs.debian.org/443412 also says we have to many Categories.

This bug was fixed in the package supertuxkart - 0.6.1a+dfsg2-3

---------------
supertuxkart (0.6.1a+dfsg2-3) unstable; urgency=low

  * Move config.* out of the diff (Closes: #538617)
  * Clean up rules
  * lintian override for invalid spellchecker in binary
  * Bump standards Version without any changes
  * Reorder Categories in the desktop file (Closes: #443412) (LP: #329265)
  * Add rubber.patch so supertuxkart won't segfault in RubberBand::hit anymore.
