Bug Description

Binary package hint: sugar-turtleart-activity

New upstream release: http://download.sugarlabs.org/sources/sucrose/fructose/TurtleArt/TurtleArt-31.tar.bz2

Debian have chosen to stay with the stable 0.82.x releases at this time, but we want to ship 0.84.x which will be the next stable release, with jaunty. This upload gets us the feature-freeze 0.83.x release.

Hi,

These packages fail to build for me:

h_installudev -psugar-turtleart-activity
dh_lintian -psugar-turtleart-activity
dh_install -psugar-turtleart-activity
cp: cannot stat `./TurtleArt.activity': No such file or directory
dh_install: command returned error code 256
make: *** [binary-install/sugar-turtleart-activity] Error 1
dpkg-buildpackage: failure: fakeroot debian/rules binary gave error exit status 2
pbuilder: Failed autobuilding of package

Luke said he would take a look.

Thanks,

James

I'm curious:
 - why are .po files shipped in the .deb?
 - why don't you guys use the setup.py installation method?

Good points.

.po files are shipped with Sugar activities on the OLPC XO, in the theoretical hope that "teh childrenz!!1!" will be able to fix bad translations themselves and that some peer-to-peer translation distribution mechanism would be developed. That's definitely out of scope for Ubuntu, so I'll remove the po files.

I'll look into using setup.py for installing - my goal was to get the new upstream version packaged before feature freeze using Jani's existing packaging and then work on improving it.
