Hi Jaunty developer,

when trying to install python-scientific the following error occurs:

python-scientific:
Depends: python-netcdf but it is not going to be installed

when trying to install python-netcdf the following error occurs:

python-netcdf:
Depends: python (<2.6) but 2.6.1-0ubuntu2 is to be installed
Depends: python-scientific but it is not going to be installed
I do not understand that message because python 2.5 is also installed.

Dudes: It's a development release. We're in the middle of a Python transition (look at the version of the package python in Jaunty to answer your question). It'll get sorted over the next several days.

This bug was fixed in the package python-scientific - 2.4.11-2ubuntu1

---------------
python-scientific (2.4.11-2ubuntu1) jaunty; urgency=low

  * debian/rules: make package ready for Python 2.6 (LP: #337341):
    - Include /usr/share/python/python.mk.
    - Pass $(py_setup_install_args) macro to setup.py install.
    - Replace site-packages with py_sitename{,_sh} and wildcards.
