Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

1) Release: Ubuntu 8.10 (fully updated)

2) Package version:

evolution: 2.24.3-0ubuntu1
evolution-data-server: 2.24.3-0ubuntu1

3) What you expected to happen:

Google Contacts and Evolution contacts are synced.

4) What happened instead:

When i open evolution's contacts view, a window opens, where i must enter my google password. After a click on OK, a message pops up, that the evolution-addressbook exited unexpected. On the console the message "Unable to find password(s) in keyring" is printed.

But evolution is still responsive: If i try to add a contact evooolution crashes.

thanks for the report, may you please try to reproduce the same with a new user account created on your system? I've tried to reproduce it but here works fine, the contacts are synced. Do you get any messages on the command line if run evolution from there? Please try to recreate the same on jaunty and report back. thanks in advance.

I am getting the same problem. Whenever, I try to sync google contact, evolution crashes. this is what I am being told:

Evolution error

The Evolution address book has quit unexpectedly.

Your contacts for google://<email address hidden> will not be available until Evolution is restarted.

Restarting unfortunately doesn't solve the problem

Here is the backtrace from when I now open evolution (dbg symbols are installed for evolution), it asks for my password, I enter my password and click ok and then

"The Evolution address book has quit unexpectedly.

Your contacts for google://1272704872.2291.31@swankeee will not be available until Evolution is restarted."

appears.

I hit "ok" and then I ctrl+c'ed gdb.

Hopefully this will help.
