Bug Description

When trying to rebuild petsc i was getting link errors with libhypre2.0.0.

After rebuilding hypre, petsc compiled ok. Checking upstream shows that openmpi 1.3 causes the missing symbol problems and anything that depends on it will need a rebuild.

Thanks for your work on this Michael.

Just a small heads-up: for packages that just need a rebuild and no other changes (so are basically unmodified from the Debian version), we use <debian_revision>build1 and just do the changelog entry. So I went ahead and did that and removed the debian/control change too. The reason for doing this is that <debian_revision+1> will be synced automatically again. :-)

Also you can just drop the "changed maintainer field" thing from the changelog entry in future uploads.

Thanks Daniel.

Stupid thing is I know that, but in this case forgot.

So I know you only change the maintainer field when doing a change to the package for ubuntu. Do you mean I can drop the "changed maintainer field" changelog entry in this case as well?

Also wasn't exactly sure how to link this back to Debian. Did I do right in linking it how I have done?

Mentioning the maintainer change in debian/changelog is unnecessary - we do it everytime we change a package from Debian the first time. That's why 'update-maintainer' (from ubuntu-dev-tools) does not put anything in the changelog any more. :-)

Changed in debian:
status: Confirmed → Fix Released
affects: debian → openmpi (Debian)
