Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

Upgrading Kubuntu 8.10 to 9.04 (during beta freeze).

I selected text in the 'terminal' area to copy/paste for bug reporting and from that point on, new text started from where I had selected text. Just clicking in the window doesn't seem to be enough to cause it.

Marking medium since copy/paste into a bug report is a significant use case for the terminal window.

Still happens upgrading Kubuntu 10.04 to 10.10. If the process decides to output something in the terminal while you have made a selection, you lose previous output and the ordering is garbled.

I have tried this on Maverick (10.10.) with update-manager 1:0.142.22 and I have successfully selected a line from the embedded terminal, and the terminal has displayed the texts appearing at the end of the terminal text, so it seems to work as expected. Could anyone reconfirm that the issue still exists? If yes, please describe the exact steps taken to reproduce. Thank you for your help to improve Ubuntu.
