Cannot reproduce on Dapper Fl5, OO 2.0.2-1ubuntu23. It opens it. Doesn't look fine though, the "oyment" part of "Employment is covered by the cambridge logo although I don't know if OO or the file is to blame.
Matthias Klose (doko) wrote : | #3 |
doesn't crash with 2.0.2-1ubuntu6. Please could you open the document with an application of the competition and check for the overlapping area?

Erm, it still crashes for me, so this isn't fixed. On both Breezy and Dapper with latest OO.o.
If by fixed you mean "new package being uploaded" then that is good news, sorry for re-opening. Otherwise can you tell me how to stop Oo.o from capturing the crash so I can attempt to find the cause of the problem.

could you recheck with a current Live-CD (or a fresh install)?

Latest OOo (2.0.21-ubuntu6) crashes for me all the time. The file opens, but it i try to scroll it crashes.
I could attach an impress document which crashes for me all the time. I'll first try with a Live CD... *downloading*
Impress, Writer and everything. I tried to remove my ".openoffice.org" dir but it didn't help.

Works fine for me with 2.0.2-1ubuntu6/
Ross Burton (ross) wrote : | #12 |
Solution found: install the Java components.
Looks like not having oo-java-common installed means it crashes when i try and do odd things like load documents. Should the Recommends: be changed to a Depends as it causes crashes?
Ross Burton (ross) wrote : | #13 |
No no, I'm wrong. Its crashed again and is crashing every time.
Ross Burton (ross) wrote : | #14 |
I attached gdb and opened the document:
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

I've totally uninstalled oo.o and removed all traces of configuration from my $HOME. I've tried with a fresh user. It still crashes. This is quite a problem as I don't fancy reinstalling just to fix this. Does the stack trace indicate any particular problems?

I can still replicate this with 2.2.0-0ubuntu2 on Feisty. Are there -dbg packages available to get a decent stack trace with?

the dbgsym packages built by Martin should have the debug information.

The problem is that if I login as another user I can open this file on the same machine. I've tried deleting all of my dot files for OO.o, yet I still get the crash.
With -dbg for openoffice.

This document causes OO.o to crash 100% of the time, on both Dapper and Breezy.
