Well, the standard build does not have bold/italic rulers. Only when (and always when) AbiWord is built as a part of your Ubuntu package (including if it is upgraded with a new upstream version per the Debian New Maintainers' Guide) does the bold/italic numbers come up. This is a downstream-only problem - perhaps a patch with an unintended side-affect?

This bug will be "Fix Released" only when 2.6 is uploaded to Ubuntu: http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/abiword/+bug/202174 (It was a strange bug introduced by the previous packaging, and does not appear to affect AbiWord now that it has been updated to 2.6)

import/export support included in the main package now.

  * Minor adjustments for intrepid upload, merged changelogs from all PPA
    uploads.
  * Dropped abiword-plugins-gnome package, since it is empty since edgy. Add
    appropriate transitional dependencies.
  * Skip -0ubuntu1 version number, since PPA has a higher version already.
