Bug Description

when playing an audio/video file in vlc, i decide i need to pause it. clicking the pause button is fine and the expect behaviour is carried out. however, when using the notification area at the top, vlc closes. this does not occur when clicking stop.

i am running Ubuntu 9.04, freshly installed via DVD. VLC version is 0.9.9a

Confirmed on Ubuntu 9.04 using VLC version: 0.0.9a Grishenko.

Playing a folder of mp3s from the terminal shows the following when pausing the music from notification area:
[00000414] vcdx access error: fread (): Is a directory
Segmentation fault

Nope. I wasn't fixed. I can confirm that this still happened in 1.0.0.

     me@my_computer:~$ vlc
     VLC media player 1.0.0 Goldeneye
[0xbbb888] main libvlc: Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface.
     Segmentation fault

Happened with both play and pause.
