Binary package hint: pidgin
# Abstract
If X display appearance is set to >96 dots per inch resolution (e.g., pixel density of monitor is high, in my case 124 dpi) then pidgin's chat windows don't correctly scale in size to display the user's status message, instead they are cropped (see attached screenshot).
# Expected Outcome
pidgin should correctly scale the chat windows to match the status message content

not sure how the pidgin roadmap coincides with ubuntu karmic?
dropped the patch into debian/patches and building test .debs in my PPA
will attach a debdiff fwiw
