Bug Description

We turn spaces in labels into spaces in the mount point name under /media. These need to be escaped in /etc/fstab; according to fstab(5), '\040' works.

Marking as confirmed (as you previously noted to be duplicate of 119825). I did not re-validate if this issue still exists in Intrepid.

This bug was fixed in the package partman-target - 58ubuntu4

---------------
partman-target (58ubuntu4) jaunty; urgency=low

  * Escape spaces, tabs, newlines, and backslashes in fstab according to the
procedure described in getmntent(3) (LP: #38224).
  * Use labels rather than UUIDs if they exist (LP: #320871).
