Bug Description

Binary package hint: yelp

The help page file://///usr/share/gnome/help/keeping-safe/C/keeping-safe.xml#avoid-internet-crime, which can be accessed by clicking the "Help" button in the menubar, selecting the "Keeping your computer updated", and then the "Avoid Internet nuisances and crime" option incorrectly states that:

"If a website asks for your financial details, ensure that it is secure. In the Firefox Web browser, secure websites have a yellow address bar with a padlock icon to the right of the address. Click on the padlock to read more information about the security of the website."

At the time of this bug report, the most up-to-date version of Firefox included with Ubuntu 9.04 is 3.0.10, which does not exhibit any of the indicators listed in the help file when connected to a secure site.

Rather, Firefox will display a blue background behind the favicon displayed to the left of the address bar, as well as the server name and a padlock icon in the lower-right corner of the browser chrome when one is connected to a secure site.

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: amd64
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/yelp
Package: yelp 2.25.1-0ubuntu5
ProcEnviron:
 LANG=en_US.UTF-8
 SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: yelp
Uname: Linux 2.6.28-11-generic x86_64

Pedro,

Ah, so it is. Please accept my apologies; I simply used the "report a problem" link in the Help menu. Clearly this was erroneous.

I've attached a copy of the necessary file and have fixed the text. The path to the file in the ubuntu-docs source is "ubuntu-docs-9.04.10/keeping-safe/C/keeping-safe.xml"

If anyone has any improvements or suggestions to the wording, please feel free to edit it as you see fit.
