Ark do not open *.deb files when clicked from Konqueror

Bug Description

When I left click *.deb file in Konqueror window, the Ark utility opens but with the following error message:

* * * Error - Ark
The utility is not in your PATH.
Please install it or contact your system administrator.
* * *

The *.deb file is not opened. Opening of *.deb files work when I use "File | Open" from Ark's menus.

I'm using Kubuntu Dapper with latest updates in 14th of April 2006.

I did a search (apt-cache search) and I found the following package "unrar-free". I installed it (apt-get install unrar-free) and and now I can unrar files with Ark.

It seems this bug no longer exist in EDGY.

But it still exists in Dapper. Ark can open deb files with File>Open and Ctrl-O, but not by clicking on them in Konqueror. The Open File toolbar icon in Ark also fails to open a deb the first time, but not the next time you try.

Someone please report this to KDE on http://bugs.kde.org

If ark can't handle deb properly it shouldn't list it as supported mimetype in it's desktop file. - in KDE 4 it doesn't even show an error message, it just refuses to show anything.

I agree with this - .deb should open with gdebi-kde by default.

It is opened with gdebi-kde by default if you have it installed. (At least in Intrepid)
That being said, Ark still shouldn't advertise support for .debs if it really doesn't.

Upstream changes need patch for 4.1 (or backport in upstream SVN [or just remove it from teh desktop file])
