Bug Description
Binary package hint: hal
I am using 9.04 and have had this problem for a while!
When the upgrade manager installs the upgrades it always ends with the hal problem.
It seems like hal demon is not able to start.
please help

Every time after I run an upgrade I encounter this error and I have to reset the permissions on /dev/null using
chmod o+rw /dev/null
because otherwise postgres server stops working and can't be restarted.
