Bug Description

SRU Justification:

Impact: Netbooks based on the Soltech TA12 do not send a key release for volume keys causing Linux to think the key is constantly being pressed forever.

Fix: Attached is a patch that forces a key release when volume keys are pressed (will get submitted upstream).

Testcase: After booting with the patch applied, when volume key is press a key release will be sent so the volume keys can work as expected.

---

The Soltech TA12 netbook does not send a release key when pressing volume up, volume down, or mute. This causes Ubuntu to see the key constantly being pressed.

Zareason (www.zareason.com) is evaluating to ship this with Ubuntu 9.04.

A patch attached was written for the latest 2.6.28 jaunty tree branch, and has been tested by Zareason who has verified it working on the hardware.

To reproduce this problem:
1) Get Soltech TA12 notebook (Soltech is a Chinese ODM)
2) Press Volume down key
3) Notice the volume keeps going down to 0 even though you pressed the key once.

Please consider this patch to fix this issue for Jaunty SRU.

* Will be writing a different patch for upstream 2.6.30+ as the code has been refactored upstream since 2.6.28.
