complete corruption of xfce4-terminal in Karmic

FWIW, the package from debian experimental (0.2.90-1) recompiled for karmic does not have this problem. Maybe merging from experimental would be a good idea?

While I was running the experimental package, I turned off the transparent background which I suspected may have causing the issue. But that is apparently not the case.

Indeed. I'm already working on the merge. I think I'll provide 0.2.90 packages in my ppa for jaunty to gather more testing, and see how many bugs are closed by this new pre-release version (and upload it to karmic if it's not too unstable). Thanks for your bug report.

Thank you for the update on the status quo. I'll keep the experimental package installed on my Karmic system and let you know if there are any regressions or new bugs. So far, the package is running fine.
