Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubufox

Before the update, I had my home page as about:blank, I now have chrome://me001/content/text.html

Personally, this has bothered me a lot, but can return it to again, simply because it is not something that you expect to happen.

I use Firefox 3.5.2 and Karmic

how do you reproduce this? maybe this happens for "new" tabs on restart with remembering session? What happens if you press the "Home" button in the toolbar?

anyway, this is not an ubufox bug. Its shipped in a separate extension called "multisearch" in your tools -> addons dialog.

That one is currently shipped by firefox-3.0; adjusting bug tasks accordingly. ubufox - invalid ; firefox-3.0+ firefox-3.5 -> confirmed.

Yes, it is only for new tabs. Click on Home button loads about:blank. I have the extension multisearch, but I dont remember have to installed.

It would be nice if multisearch were made an optional feature, rather than a default one.

I think that developers just forgot to test "disable" action. In old releases of Ubuntu was alternative default page too, but it is be easy to disable.

Declining as I don't think FF3.5 with the patch in question is being shipped for those, unless it's via -updates.

It also affects me. The Ubuntu Firefox theme is not invasive at all, but this one surelly is. Please, if you can, remove it from the next release.
