LOgin manager control module can´t change all settings

Bug Description

Some settings in the login manager KDE control module have no effect on the login screen, for example the theme.
As kubunut has the best "clean" configuration imho this module should either be removed or only the appropriate settings should be shown.

The problem is all effects take action only if you change
UseTheme=true TO false in /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc

I think there should be an option that you can change to 'on' or 'off' for the Theme and basing on this option all others changes can be or not possible.

Don't know if kde-systemsettings is the proper package, kde-guidance? kdm?

I wouldn´t allow the user to change the theme, (k)ubuntu has the nice policy to have good defaults. So I would just disable all the settings which are not appropriate and have no effect on the theme.

you have to disable 85% of the options :(

At least add users list option!
For desktop/home pc with no more 2,3 or 4 users is very confortable and they are the major %

Do you still have this problem on Feisty?
If so, could you list exactly which options don't work?

Changed in kde-systemsettings:
status: Unconfirmed → Needs Info

Just upgraded to Feisty (beta) and problem still exists. Changing UseTheme fixes it, as Cimmo suggests. Options in the 'Users' tab don't have any effect, e.g., the user images and 'Show list'.

Changed in kdebase:
importance: Medium → Wishlist
