Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse

I'm not sure how this happened, but -vmmouse should be in main but for is actually in universe currently.

Here is the original main promotion bug:
   https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse/+bug/69780

But as you can see from the latest sync request, it is in universe currently:
   https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse/+bug/379314

Interestingly, the -vmware driver is in main:
   xserver-xorg-video-vmware:
  Installed: 1:10.16.6-1
  Candidate: 1:10.16.6-1
  Version table:
 *** 1:10.16.6-1 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Anyone know what caused -vmmouse to drop to universe?

I re-promoted -vmmouse to main, but it needs to be depended on by -input-all to stay in main.

Not sure why this didn't close when I uploaded the fix. Anyway, should be good to go by now.

Confirmed that this is NOT a dependency of xserver-xorg-input-all in current Karmic:

perseus:[~] apt-cache show xserver-xorg-input-all | grep-dctrl -sVersion,Depends,Recommends,Suggests ''
Version: 1:7.4+3ubuntu5
Depends: xserver-xorg-input-evdev, xserver-xorg-input-synaptics, xserver-xorg-input-wacom, x11-common

Reopening the bug accordingly.

Last time I tried it, it didn't even work in KVM, though. Did it for you?

Hmm. Weird, the change is in git but no trace of it in Karmic. Looks like perhaps timo and I assumed the other had uploaded it or something. Hopefully not too late for this to go in, but I've uploaded it now.

This bug was fixed in the package xorg - 1:7.4+3ubuntu6

---------------
xorg (1:7.4+3ubuntu6) karmic; urgency=low

  * apport/source_xorg.py: Do not file bug if VirtualBox is in use, since
it provides its own video driver.
  * vars.*: Add explicit dependency on xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse to
    ensure it stays in main.
