memtest entry grows longer and longer in installed grub menu.lst

Bug Description
After a few ubiquity installs, the memtest entries in the default grub menu.lst developed a funny habit of growing:
$ grep 'title.*memtest' /boot/grub/menu.lst
title Ubuntu, memtest86+
