Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

When pressing the of offline/online button on Evolution's status bar, the "Do you want to synchronize" dialog comes up an offers a checkbox to disable this dialog in the future. If I choose to disable the dialog in the future and then choose "do not synchronize", then future clicks on the offline button will cause a synchronization.

I have a few issues with that behavior:
1. Its entirely not clear what Evolution will do in the future when you go offline and the "quick offline" prompt is disabled - the dialog is ambiguous about it at best and the user can easily surmise that Evolution will do the same action as was chosen in the prompt, which is obviously not the case.
2. The user has no way to revert the action if they decide that they do not want Evolution to synchronize every time they go offline. (I'm aware of the gconf key, but its hardly discoverable).
3. There is no way to go quickly offline (i.e. without synchronization) and without going through an interactive dialog. An interactive dialog is probably not the very definition of "quick".

I'm reporting this here because this is where the "report a bug" menu item took me here. I'll also open a ticket upstream.

I've opened upstream GNOME bug https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=595092 about this. I haven't found how to link launchpad to the GNOME Bugzilla.

      - set gnome-pilot-conduits as suggests
      - don't split documentation since it goes to langpacks
      - evolution replaces evolution-plugins (<< 2.22.2-1)
since the bogofilter plugin has been moved there
      - evolution-plugins-experimental replaces evolution-plugins (<< 2.27)
      - updated descriptions to reflect binary installs
      - remove libgtkimageview-dev build-dep: not in main, seems crashy right

    + debian/evolution-alarm-notify.desktop,
      debian/evolution-alarm-notify.desktop.in,
      #debian/patches/64_translate_autostart_strings.patch: #
      - autostart desktop file to start evolution-alarm-notify with the session,
        translate the entry
    + debian/evolution-dev.install:
      - detail the .so to install
    + debian/evolution-plugins.install,
      debian/evolution-plugins-experimental.install:
      - install the .so in binaries corresponding to the upstream options
    + debian/patches/01_dont-ship-evo-mail-notifier.png.patch:
      - don't ship that change that debian added without reason
    + debian/evolution.preinst, debian/evolution.templates:
