Bug Description

When running on VirtualBox, Karmic Beta goes to infinite cycle on rebooting after installation.
It drops to text mode and prints:
"init: ubiquity main process terminated with status 1
init: gdm main process terminated with status 1
init: gdm main process ended, respawning
init: ubiquity main process terminated with status 1
init: gdm main process terminated with status 1
init: gdm main process ended, respawning
init: ubiquity main process terminated with status 1
init: gdm main process terminated with status 1
init: gdm main process ended, respawning"
After this, graphical shell starts. Then, it prints the same text, then goes normal shutdown, and after that this:
"* Killing all remaining processes... [fail]"
Then, again ,goes normal shutdown, it prints
"Please renove the disc and close the tray (if any) then press ENTER:
_"
And then the grahpical shell shows up again, and all this repeats.
If I reboot the machine after simple live session or install Ubuntu from a live session everything is OK.

what is your graphics configuration setup for your VirtualBox image? Can you boot into rescue mode?

Definitely appears on 12mb video memory, 3D acceleration off; probably appears on 70mb video memory, 3D acceleration off, will check now.
You mean the rescue mode on the alternate CD?

Correction: thes time it shows white ubuntu logo splash in the beginning and doesn't print anything during the cycles.

During boot up, hold down the [Shift] key to signal grub2 to load the menu. From there, you should be able to boot into Recovery (or Rescue...I can't remember the exact name) mode. I suspect this is a problem with the graphics driver being loaded.

The recovery mode can recover installed system. The installed system shuts down correctly, this bug appears only in installation session.
