Bug Description

I used this command to upgrade from Breezy => Dapper:
sudo update-manager -d

Everything's going fine, but when the system starts with "Cleaning up", there's a critical error. I had to report the error and add the following files:

- http://home.hetnet.nl/~sanderthijsen/dapper-bug/dist-upgrade.log : /var/log/dist-upgrade.log
- http://home.hetnet.nl/~sanderthijsen/dapper-bug/dist-upgrade-apt.log : /var/log/dist-upgrade-apt.log

Thanks for your bugreport.

Is the directory /tmp/tmprBzzHc still on your system? I would be interessted in a copy of its content.

Thanks,
 Michael

Oh, I'm very sorry, but I don't have anything left of this system. It was impossible to work with the system, so I used a backup to restore it.

I'm sorry...

Thanks I'm still pondering what might have caused this.

I had the same problem upgrading from Breezy to Dapper. My system seemed fine on reboot (except that I will need to recompile the driver for my graphics card against the new kernel, so I'm down from two monitors to one at the moment).

The error was as follows (I'll attach the logs separately):

A fatal error occured

Please report this as a bug and include the files /var/log/dist-upgrade.log and /var/log/dist-upgrade-apt.log in your report. The upgrade aborts now.
Your original sources.list was saved in /etc/apt/sources.list.distUpgrade.

Sorry, I don't have a /tmp/tmprBzzHc. My system was set up to flush /tmp on reboot.

My update was done via the link at the top of the Update Manager.

I don't know - I'm still running Dapper.
