Bug Description

Binary package hint: acpi-support

Hi,

I am using kubuntu, on my toshiba A105-S361 laptop. I think I can successfully hibernate to disk. But when I resume, I finally get the KDM screen! I don't get my session back.

Yes, when resuming the bootup stops a long time at the 'resuming from hibernation' prompt.

I have got similar reports with powersave/kpowersave on forums/irc. I could not find the cause for this in (k)powersave.

Are you running klaptop or did you replace it with kpowersave?

Thanks for reporting this bug. Can someone experiencing this problem please attach their /var/log/acpid, /etc/default/acpi-support, and the output from uname -a? Also, no one mentioned which version of ubuntu they experienced this on, so if someone could also check it on Feisty, and report if it still occurs, that would be a big help.

Also, the discussion on bug 35174 sounds fairly productive, however the symptoms are quite different from this bug; can someone with this problem check that bug and see if it is at all related to this one, or if any of the suggestions there help fix this one.

In Feisty, the suspend from 'Log Out..' menu worked ok for me, but kpowersave's suspend gave the login screen after resume.

s2ram however worked ok, so I assigned the XF86Shutdown key to my sleep button and made it run s2ram, so I was happy.

Now I've tried Gutsy (Tribe 4) and kpowersave's suspend works now, as does the one from 'Log Out..' menu. And kpowersave has the option to bind the sleep button to suspend, so I continue being happy.
