Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

I only have this bug on my i386 ubuntu 9.10 install not the 64bit ubuntu 9.10 install. You click the restart button firefox dies but doesn't restart and the ad-ons I have tried don't enabled and then restart firefox button shows up again about 3sec after the browser starts up when you start the browser from scratch each time.

Well am sure the Firefox community is working hard to fix this issue for this particular version. The temporary solution is to kill the process once and restart the Firefox version 3.5.7 . This will help you temporarily. It is not a security issue just a minor bug after you have installed a Add on or something.

To kill the process Go to System > Administration > System Monitor > Process > Firefox (find the process and kill it once )

* am not associated with Mozilla , Firefox , Ubuntu , etc., am just another user like you who came across this solution and shared it with you so correct me if i was wrong or if you have a solution please post it here.
