Bug Description

When trying to add a ppa :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:jason-scheunemann/ppa

Exception in thread Thread-1:
Traceback (most recent call last):

Then I realised launchpad was under maintenance. It would be nice if the message was a bit more user friendly.

How about fixing this in Karmic too? Lucid hasn't been released yet.
