Bug Description

Binary package hint: emacs23

Got this warning when installing emacs23-nox in an i386 chroot environment.

Setting up emacs23-nox (23.1+1-4ubuntu5) ...
update-alternatives: using /usr/bin/emacs23-nox to provide /usr/bin/emacs (emacs) in auto mode.
emacs-install emacs23
emacsen-common: Handling install of emacsen flavor emacs23

Wouldn't it be fair to assume that it's a minor / cosmetic issue. Let's see to it that it's reported upstream so that the Debian maintainer can fix this whenever they update the file next time.

Yeah I didn't see any other breakage I could attribute to this, just mentioning in case it's important and if not, in the general hope of quelling innocuous warnings. Guessing it's just a code cleanup thing.

Debuan bug #530961 has a patch to the issue since Sep 2009. A debdiff with the patch from Debian bug is attached.
